How many pockets can you cram into a single pair of pants? We don’t know. In the case of the MOW Caligo Pants, though, they decided to equip the garment with a whopping 18 pockets.
That’s right, these “travel adventure” pants come with a ridiculous 18 pockets, so you can stash an entire slim backpack’s worth of gear using just the same pair of trousers you’re already wearing. How comfortable can it be with all those pockets filled? We have no idea, but this garment will let you find out all for yourself.
The MOW Caligo Pants comes with your usual roster of pockets, such as a pair of zippered side pockets and a pair of back pockets, so you can rock it like a standard pair of pants. To change things up, though, the side pockets come with two compartments each, so you can separate stuff into their own section. However, the main storage here are the large diagonal zippered pockets on either side of the lower thighs, with each one being large enough to fit a 10-inch tablet pretty easily. Inside each of those pockets are two mesh pouches, one with vertical access and another with horizontal access, so you can separate and organize smaller items, instead of dumping them all in one space. That’s right, its pockets have pockets, which makes sense considering how ridiculous this is.
It has a pair of large zippered pockets out front that the outfit calls FlapShell, which can be lifted up to bring it closer, so you don’t have to bend down. They can also be secured to the pants using snap buttons if you prefer they don’t go flopping around while you’re on the move. It has two RFID-blocking pockets for any sensitive items, both of which come with invisible zippers, as well as a pair of smartphone pouches (yes, they expect you to be a sketchy guy with two phones) and even a bottle holder, though we can’t figure how it’s supposed to secure a bottle. Granted, we’re not sure if that’s actually 18 pockets, but it’s definitely a lot.
The MOW Caligo Pants has a relaxed fit that makes it suitable for filling with up with gear, since it never looks bulky the way cargo pants do, with the bulk, pretty much, blending in with its looser silhouette. Designed for comfort, it comes with an elastic waistband for easily adjusting fit, articulated knees for excellent mobility, and a magnetic fidlock fastener for securing it across the waist. The pants are made from Nylon N66, a recycled material that boasts four-way stretch, scratch-resistance, and tear-resistance, all while being water-resistant, so it should dry quicker when you get caught in the rain.

Other features include a zippered hem that lets you adjust the leg width for accommodating different shoes, an active crotch gusset, and tailored hip and leg shapes. The pants are available in six sizes for men and three for women, with each size’s waistband able to expand up to 25 percent when needed for a more flexible fit. It comes in two colors, night black and aurora green.
A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the MOW Caligo Pants. You can reserve a unit for pledges starting at €95.
