Nowadays, whenever we see work desks or gaming desks that use just a pair of legs as their supporting columns, we assume they’re height adjustable. It’s such a widely-used design in the category with both motorized and non-motorized options, after all. That’s why we appreciate seeing height-adjustable desks that take on a different approach, just like this Herman Miller Spout Sit-to-Stand Table.
Instead of using two telescoping columns to raise and lower its tabletop, the work desk comes with four legs much like a more traditional office table, ensuring a more compatible aesthetic with your favorite office chairs. That means, you get a desk that can easily adjust in height throughout the day, while getting all the advantages of traditional four-legged designs, such as higher payload support, better load balancing, and greater stability during height transitions.
The Herman Miller Spout Sit-to-Stand Table is a height-adjustable desk that ditches the more common two-column design for a more traditional four-legged structure, giving it a more traditional office desk aesthetic. All four legs feature a telescoping design that enables the height adjustment, with individual in-line motor actuators on each leg powering the lifting and lowering actions. According to the outfit, the motors are designed to run quietly, so they create no distractions, no matter how many times you adjust the height throughout the day. The desk, by the way, can go down as low as 27 inches, while rising to a maximum height of 46 inches when you want to hop onto your standing desk mat.
Because it uses a traditional four-legged structure, it’s able to support more weight, gaining a lift capacity of up to 400 pounds. Granted, no one probably needs to lay down 400 pounds’ worth of computer equipment on a work desk, but it’s nice to know it can support all that weight if you ever need to use it. Even better, the four legs ensure you won’t get any wobbling while the desk raises or lowers, which is not the case with many of the two-column tables we’ve seen through the years.
The Herman Miller Spout Sit-to-Stand Table comes with integrated cable management under the table, including a cable tray and built-in clips on one leg, making it easier to tidy up your cable situation. There’s a slim drawer out front sized to fit laptops, keyboards, and similar slimmer accessories, as well as a pair of USB-C ports right on the tabletop that are each rated to deliver up to 100W of power when used alone, but drops down to 65W each when used together. Basically, the table has some pretty useful add-ons that most people are likely to appreciate.

Construction is metal for the base and laminate or veneer wood for the tabletop, with a felt liner on the drawer and a cork tray underneath. It’s available in three sizes: 23 x 46 inches, 29 x 58 inches, and 35 x 70 inches. Because it uses four legs, the larger versions can be used to support multiple users without affecting stability, making it a likely better choice for offices looking to outfit their floor with new height-adjustable desks.
The Herman Miller Spout Sit-to-Stand Table is available now, priced starting at $2,300.
