The best robot vacuums are incredibly useful, but why stick to letting the robots suction dirt and debris when you can put them to work mopping up your dirty floors as well? That’s the simple idea behind robot vacuum mop combos, whose versatile wet and dry cleaning functions make them a more attractive alternative to traditional robot vacuums.
The best robot vacuum mops have evolved a lot in the last five years. Early in their inception, the mopping functions you will find in the category were pretty basic, doing little more than dragging an absorbent pad across the floor. Nowadays, you get a heck of a lot more in wet cleaning power, with models getting features such as smart sensors that automatically detect stains, extendable mops for cleaning corners, and all sorts of automated cleaning and refilling features that minimizes any need for intervention on the user’s part.
The best robot vacuum mops have cleaning pads that can move in some fashion, allowing them to scrape off stains much better than stationary variants. We’ve seen some use dual mop pads that can rotate, as well as rolling mops that automatically clean the upper section as it rotates to ensure dirty surfaces don’t come in contact with your floors. Like we said, it’s an evolving category, with new innovations happening aplenty. Do note, the mopping function in these models still isn’t perfect, so you’ll still need to occasionally mop your floors manually for those really stubborn stains. It does well enough for the most part, though, and it really saves you a lot of trouble.
Of course, the mopping function is only one half of the consideration when it comes to robot vacuum mops. It still has to be a very capable robot vacuum, too. Fortunately, the vacuum is the more mature part of the category, so a lot of the models we tried actually performed impressively when it comes to suctioning dirt off your home’s surfaces.
These are the best robot vacuum mops to automate wet and dry cleaning around your house.
Yeedi M12 Pro+
Pros
- Strong suction power
- Extendable arm cleans tight nooks and edges
- Long battery life
Cons
- Navigation still not the best
- Struggled with some tough stains
Suction power: 11,000 Pa
Battery life: 290 minutes
Water tank capacity: 55 ml
Dustbin volume: 300 ml
Yes, the most affordable option in our best robot vacuum mops list is still pretty expensive. While there are much cheaper models out there, they tend to have too many shortcomings that just make them a bit tough to include in the list. Sadly, that’s just the state the category is in at the moment.
This one, though, offers really good value for the money with powerful suction, as well as the ability take on different floor types in one go, automatically increasing suction on carpets and decreasing it on harder surfaces. We love the extendable arm that does a great job of cleaning out those nooks and crannies plenty of robo-cleaners often miss, as well as the dual rotating mops, one of which can retract for reaching into tighter spaces. It’s got a self-emptying dustbin, self-washing scrub mops, and improved navigational capabilities, although it still did hit obstacles a few times more than we’d like. Battery life is very generous, to, allowing it to clean even a bigger space in one go.
Dreame X30 Ultra
Pros
- Removes mop pads automatically before cleaning carpets
- Excellent navigation
- Impressive self-cleaning features
Cons
- Loud
- Misses dirt on tight nooks and crannies
Suction power: 8,300 Pa
Battery life: 180 minutes
Water tank capacity: 80 ml
Dustbin volume: 350 ml
First off, we were impressed with this robot vacuum mop’s navigation capabilities, as it moved adeptly around all sorts of fixtures in the room, never really getting stuck the way some models do. We love the fact it automatically removes the dual mop pads on its own before taking on carpets, which it also automatically snaps on as soon as it finishes and returns to the base. If you’ve ever suffered through models that ended up getting your carpet damp, you’ll definitely appreciate that extra feature. The vacuum is pretty good as well. although it does struggle at cleaning edges and corners, so you’ll occasionally still find litter left along those areas, which is disappointing. It’s got a bunch of smart features, too, like floor remopping (it recognizes when it hasn’t cleaned a section thoroughly), multi-floor mapping, and all sorts of self-cleaning and self-refilling capabilities. The darn thing is loud, though, especially when it’s emptying all its muck into the base.
iRobot Roomba Combo j9+
Pros
- Retractable mop head
- Excellent navigation and mapping
- Effective vacuuming
- Quieter than others
Cons
- Longer cleaning times
Suction power: Unlisted
Battery life: 120 minutes
Water tank capacity: 17 ml
Dustbin volume: 300 ml
Instead of removing its mop head before taking on carpets, this robot vacuum mop uses a retractable arm that lifts it up to the top of the robot, so it never comes in contact with the carpet. This allows it to go straight from vacuuming carpets to mopping floors without any extra trips to the dock. If it doesn’t mop a stain to your liking, by the way, you can activate the SmartScrub feature, which adds a back-and-forth motion to the scrub that, the outfit claims, results in two times deeper scrubbing.
As with other Roomba machines, it vacuums impressively well, all while navigating around the room as well as well-trained house pet. What we noticed, though, is it vacuums a lot longer than older Roomba models we’ve tried, which, we guess, means it does a more thorough cleaning (and the floors did look positively clean). Suffice to say, it takes its time, especially when going through an entire floor. It’s also very hands-off, with the robot doing its own cleaning and refilling, requiring you to simply take out and refill the tanks on the hub once a month (or anytime the app tells you it’s needed).
Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Pros
- Best mopping action
- Avoids obstacles exceptionally
- Vacuums edges well/li>
Cons
- Louder than others
- Gets stuck up when vacuuming larger debris
Suction power: 8,000 Pa
Battery life: 216 minutes
Water tank capacity: 240 ml
Dustbin volume: 250 ml
With an 11.4-inch wide roller mop, this robot vacuum mop simulates hand scrubbing to loosen even stubborn stains, allowing to take on dirt other models aren’t able to handle. Even better, the top of that roller mop gets scrubbed clean inside the machine as it spins, so the mop is always clean each time it touches the floors. The results are impressive, as it’s definitely the best mopping results we’ve seen among the models in the list.
The vacuum function is very good, too, with strong enough suction power to pick up all dirt and debris it encounters along the way.
The big problem is when it encounters larger pieces of debris, which can get stuck in the roller, requiring you to manually remove the blockage before it can resume operations. It’s annoying, although vacuuming does go pretty smoothly save for those instances. Part of what makes things go smoothly is its excellent navigation, allowing it to avoid not just furniture, but cables and random rags on the floor. Suffice to say, it’s quite an impressive all-around performer with just a few things left to iron out.
Roborock Qrevo Curv
Pros
- Powerful vacuum
- Elevating wheels allow it to climb onto raised areas
- Extendable mop scrubs corners and edges
Cons
- Doesn’t dispense detergent
- Doesn’t lift or remove mops when vacuuming carpets
Suction power: 18,500 Pa
Battery life: 240 minutes
Water tank capacity: Unlisted
Dustbin volume: Unlisted
This robot vacuum mop has more suction power than anything we’ve seen, ensuring it can take on big piles of messes without a single hiccup. Do note, it won’t activate all that suction power at all times, instead only delivering enough suction as needed based on the amount of dirt it detects. That is to say, you will need to manually activate the max setting occasionally when the vacuum doesn’t quite clean up a patch of the room as thoroughly (happened when we got a lot of sand in the house). We also like the fact that its roller brush splits in two to avoid tangling. For mopping, it uses a pair of spinning pads that continuously scrub on stains to get them off, with one of the pads held on an extendable arm to enable mopping on tighter nooks of the floor. And yes, it handles stains very well, although it does suffer from the same issues as other models (dark streaks occasionally left over), which only the Omni S1 Pro above was able to avoid.
We love the elevating wheels, which can rise up 0.4 inches off the ground, allowing it to climb elevations up to 1.6 inches, which makes it pretty unique in the category. The mapping and navigation are comprehensive and effective, too, allowing it to get around your home and avoid obstacles very effectively. It also has a bunch of extra features, including built-in voice assistant, security camera functionality, and real time video calling, which we find unnecessary (but some people may appreciate).
