Rumpl should know a thing or two about keeping things cozy at camp. They make some of the comfiest outdoor blankets for curling up in a hammock, laying on a camping cot, or just staying warm while walking around at camp, after all. This time around, though, they’re looking to bring all that cozy tech into a sleeping bag in the form of the Rumpl Wrap Sack 20°.
No, it’s not a backpacking sleep system you can strap to your pack before going on a hike. Instead, it’s designed for car campers who want a sleeping bag that puts a premium on comfort, making it a great fit for a big chunk of the people who use their outdoor blankets.
The Rumpl Wrap Sack 20° is a far cry from the mummy bags currently popular among many campers. Instead of a body-hugging fit, the sleeping bag comes with plenty of room inside, making it ideal for folks who like to move around during slumber. It’s rated for 20 degree weather, which means it should be suitable for three-season use, with the insulation provided by a mix of NanoLoft and RenewaLoft. According to the outfit, this combo creates a high-performance sleep system that delivers exceptional warmth and excellent durability, all while never developing that funky smell often attributed to natural down.
Of course, being an outdoor blanket company played a big part in the sleeping bag’s design. As such, it features an innovative blanket-layering system that, essentially, puts a pair of blankets on top of the bag. When it’s hot, you can leave both blankets undone to help keep the interior of the sleeping bag cool. During colder nights, you can opt to wrap one blanket layer or both layers at once, essentially giving you the option to fine-tune how much insulation you need to sleep comfortably through the night. Even better, you can easily adjust at any point in the night, so you can wrap another layer if it gets colder or undo one layer when it gets warmer. Simply put, it’s way more versatile than your typical sleeping bag.
The Rumpl Wrap Sack 20° comes with built-in clips to secure those blanket layers in place, which you can also use to connect an additional Rumpl blanket when it gets too cold for even the sleeping bag to handle. The hood comes with a pillow pocket sized to fit the outfit’s Camp Pillow and other similarly-sized cushions, while a full-length two-way zipper panel lets you quickly get some cooling ventilation when you need it. To keep you comfortable during wet weather, they also gave it a PFAS-free water-repellent finish. According to the outfit, it’s machine-washable, so there’s no hassle during cleanup, while even being safe for tumble-drying at a low heat setting.

Construction is a recycled 30D polyester ripstop, so this should offer decent durability for the rugged outdoors. It measures 82 x 35 inches (length x width) when fully deployed, with a size that accommodates sleepers up to 6’2″, all while collapsing into a stuff sack that measures 17.25 x 11 inches (length x diameter). Yes, it folds up into quite big size, while also being pretty heavy at five pounds.
The Rumpl Wrap Sack 20° is available now, priced at $199.
